Final Quality Media Prep
Prepare your media for Final quality vubbing.
To prepare your media for Final quality vubbing, follow these simple steps:
1. Acquire your camera original media
- You should acquire the exact frames of the camera original media that you wish to vub - your Source media. Depending on your shooting format, this may be an EXR image sequence or a high quality MOV / MXF.
- You should also acquire the exact frames of the camera original media that you require as Training Data, if any. Again, depending on your shooting format, these may be EXR image sequences or high quality MOVs / MXFs.
- Note that if you have used video Driving Data, you do not need to acquire the camera original media for it.
- Technical specifications of the above media:
- Resolution: Delivery resolution
- The color space of the media can be any of the major OCIO color spaces e.g. ACES2065-1, REC2020, etc.
- The media should have square pixels i.e. a 1:1 pixel aspect ratio.
2. Degrain your media (temporary recommended step)
Note that this step is shortly to become unnecessary (pending a system update); however in the interim we recommend that you degrain your Final quality media - both your Source media and the Training Data.
3. Apply speed changes or necessary transforms
- If, in your offline edit, your shot has a speed change applied to it, you need to apply the same speed change to your Final quality media, since you need to be using the same frames.
- If you have transforms (e.g. resize, reframe, rotation, flop) applied to your shot in the offline edit, we recommend that you don’t apply these transforms to your Final quality media (they can be applied to the result after vubbing). HOWEVER, the exception to this, in some special instances, is if a transform (such as a rotation or a flop) needs to be performed to improve DeepEditor results. If this is deemed necessary (typically under advice from Flawless Customer Success), these ‘remedial’ transforms should be applied to your Final quality media before proceeding.
Now proceed to Final Quality Vub Creation.
