Common Issues and How to Fix Them
Media Issues
Most of the errors during media upload and processing are due to unsupported media formats.
To get more information about an error, hover over “Error” in the Status column.
Here are some of the most common errors and how to deal with them:

Awaiting Media Shuttle |
DeepEditor is waiting for files to finish uploading via Media Shuttle. You can proceed with the next step once the upload has completed. |
Action needed |
This file requires additional settings to be specified before it can be used to create vubs. If the issue persists, contact us at support@flawless.app. |
Corrupted File |
This file appears to be corrupted or is in an unsupported format. Remove and try uploading the file again or exporting in a supported format. See the Supported Media Formats page for more information. |
Detecting Characters Failed |
No faces were detected in this video, preventing processing. Remove this file, ensure a visible face is present, and try again. |
Failed Authorize Upload |
Failed to authorize upload for media. Please refresh and try again. |
Failed Linking To Shot |
Failed to link media to shot. Please refresh and try again. |
Failed Media Registration |
Failed to register media. Please refresh and try again. |
Failed Upload |
Failed to upload media to storage. Please refresh and try again. |
Mismatched Frame Count |
The frame count of the file doesn’t match the existing source file. Remove and upload a file with the correct frame count. Make sure the Source file and Driving Data file have the exact same frame count and/or duration. |
Mismatched Frame Rate |
The frame rate of this file doesn’t match the existing source file. Remove and upload a file with the correct frame rate. Make sure the Source file, Driving Data file and Training Data files have the same frame rate. |
No Content Detected |
The media file is missing its primary content (e.g. video file has no video). You may need to recreate or re-export your media. Make sure it still meets the media formats supported by DeepEditor. |
No Performance Detected |
Video does not have any faces in it. Check your media and make sure the media you upload has a face in it. |
Processing |
DeepEditor is processing media. Wait until processing has completed to proceed with the next step. |
Processing Failed |
An internal error occurred during processing. Remove and try uploading the file again. |
Select color space / Select frame rate |
Enter the color space / frame rate for the uploaded media. |
Unable to upload Training data |
You can only upload Training data for Standard, Professional and Theatrical quality vubs. Draft vubs use the Source file for training. |
Unknown error |
An unknown error occurred. Remove this file and try re-uploading it. If the issue persists, contact us at support@flawless.app. |
Unsupported Aspect Ratio |
The media aspect ratio is not supported currently. Check the supported media formats for details of the supported aspect ratios. |
Unsupported Color Space |
Review the supported media formats to find the supported color spaces and make sure your media adheres to them. |
Unsupported Frame Rate |
The frame rate of this file is not supported. Remove and upload a file with a supported frame rate. Check the supported media formats page for details of the supported frame rates and ensure your media adheres to them. |
Unsupported Sample Rate |
The sample rate of this file is not supported. Remove and upload a video with a supported sample rate. Review the supported media formats for details. |
Video Too Long |
This file exceeds the supported length for processing. Remove, trim the video, and upload again. DeepEditor currently accommodates video and audio assets with a maximum duration of 1,440 frames (roughly 50 seconds). |
Vub issues

No Token Error |
This can happen if two vubs are kicked off at the same time for the same tenant (i.e. shared account) and compete for the last token. |
Refinement page: the face mask is jumping between faces |
DeepEditor can currently vub one face at a time, so your source media needs to have additional faces masked. |
Render quality of vub is poor |
Draft quality vub: no solution Standard quality vub and above: upload training data with the same lighting conditions + visible mouth interior |

Check that the media you uploaded meets the DeepEditor Supported Media Formats, e.g.

Vub result is poor |
Check that the dialogue in your Driving Data file is clear and there is no music and sound effects in the audio. Upload Training Data. This really helps DeepEditor createa better model of the character. If there were Refinement changes made to the vub, review the applied keyframe overrides. Using fewer keyframes and lower blendshape values can often improve the results significantly. Review the interpolation values to make sure that you use the original performance in sections where it does not need to be changed. |

Make sure that the Audio Driving Data file you are uploading meets the following requirements: Format: WAV Codec: Uncompressed (Linear PCM) Bit rate: 24-bit Sampling: 48khz Channels: Mono or Stereo |
How do I stop a vub from generating?
Currently, there is no way to stop the process, once you've clicked “Generate Vub”.
I am getting image artifacts/glitches, what should I do?
1. In the refinement tool, review the blendshapes and interpolation you have applied. Lower the interpolation for the affected frames as these glitches happen when the new expression is very different from an expression the AI has seen of the character before.
2. If the artifacts appeared in a Draft Quality Vub, try running a Standard Quality Vub, so you can add Training Data. Adding Training Data can often solve this issue.
Note that we are also working on improvements to our technology that will minimize the instances of these issues appearing. This will be deployed in the coming weeks.
