With the latest version of Avid Media Composer, Flawless DeepEditor is now available as an extension, accessible directly from the Panels menu (or the Tools menu for versions of Avid between 2024.12 & 2025.11). Once Avid is launched, go to Panels › Flawless DeepEditor to open the extension inside your workspace.
To complete setup, you’ll need to download and install the Flawless DeepEditor Companion App, a lightweight helper application that establishes a secure web relay between Avid and DeepEditor’s online services. This ensures your workstation can upload media and download assets without interruption.
It is recommended that you close Avid Media Composer before undertaking the steps in this guide.
System Requirements
Mac:
- macOS Sequoia 15 or later
- M1 series CPU or later
- Intel CPU for Apple hardware under active support
Windows:
- Windows 11 (24H2) or later
- x86 CPU supported only
Avid Media Composer Software:
- Avid Media Composer® 2024.12 or later
Download and Install the Companion App
Mac users:
To install the companion app, download and open the .zip file
Open up the .pkg file to begin installation. Follow the steps in the installer to complete the process.
Windows users:
With the downloaded .zip, 'Extract All' and then run the installer
Restart your Avid Media Composer after completing the installation process.
Currently the companion app is not ready for Linux.
Accessing Flawless DeepEditor in Avid
Once the companion app is installed you will be able to access assets in the Flawless DeepEditor Avid extension
- Enter your Avid project
- Go to Panels
- Select Flawless DeepEditor
- Allow localhost access.

DeepEditor needs permission to talk to a helper app running on your computer, it’s just how the extension works behind the scenes to ensure files are uploaded to DeepEditor securely.
