Overview

This article for IT admins provides an overview of DeepEditor and the DeepEditor plugin for Avid, focusing on deployment options, system requirements, cloud and network configuration, security and compliance, and updates and maintenance.

Flawless DeepEditor is an AI-assisted tool designed for visual dubbing (vubbing). It re-animates an actor’s mouth movements, so a brand-new line (a translation, ADR pickup, or profanity swap) looks like it was spoken on set. It does this by merging the original plate (“Source Media”) with the replacement performance (video or audio, called “Driving Data”) to generate a self-contained vub (visual dub). Editors can then place vubs back into their timelines, giving them cinema-ready, lip-sync-perfect shots for localisation, ratings edits, or last-minute story tweaks without a single reshoot.
