Do I need to refine my vub?
Refinement is an important part of the vubbing process as it gives you an opportunity to perfect lip sync and increase the believability of the vub.
Can I cancel a refinement render?
Yes, once you click Render Changes, DeepEditor will show you the render progress percentage and display a cancel button next to this. Just click the red button to cancel the render.
What does the Driving Data Scale slider do?
The Driving Data Scale slider allows you to create a neutral expression based on the emotional range of expressions displayed by the character in the shot.
Moving the Driving Data Scale slider to zero allows you to create a closed-mouth neutral expression individualised to the performer based on the emotional range they display across the shot. This means that you can now separate speech and emotion - e.g. remove the dialogue, but preserve the smile.
Here are the key use cases where this can help you:
- If you want to eliminate a word or line of dialogue visually, you don't need to remove the audio for that word/line - you can just take the scale down to zero for that section.
- If your dialogue track isn't clean or includes other speakers, the driving data may contain unwanted movements before or after your intended line. If you can’t use zero interpolation because the character is still speaking the original dialogue, you can now set the scale to zero to remove these extra movements.
- If you don't yet have your target audio but want to make sure that your shot is likely to succeed from an image-quality perspective, you can run what we call a 'validation vub' by uploading original language audio and setting the scale to zero.
