Flawless DeepEditor Avid Extension: Avid Media Package Learning Resource
At Flawless, we’ve created an Avid Media Composer Media Package to help you learn and explore the DeepEditor visual dubbing workflow directly inside Avid Media Composer.
Using the Flawless DeepEditor Avid Media Composer Media Package
This package includes all the project files and media you’ll need to follow along with our tutorials. It’s built around a short film we produced in-house, and you have full permission to use this material for learning purposes.
This guide is designed to help you set up our Avid media package
When clicking on the following link, a 2.0GB .zip containing all the assets of the media package will automatically download: https://downloads.flawless.app/Flawless_DeepEditor_Avid_Media_Package_v1.1.zip
Overview
The Media Package is designed to demonstrate three core use cases for visual dubbing in DeepEditor:
- In-Vision ADR – replacing or refining dialogue performances by syncing new audio recordings to the original on-screen delivery.
- Performance Transfer – transferring a preferred performance (for example, from a close-up) onto a different shot setup (like a wide).
- Performance Edit – altering the rhythm or timing of an existing performance by shortening, extending, or removing dialogue lines.
These examples showcase how visual dubbing can enhance creative control in post-production and reduce the need to return to set.
Package Contents
The Media Package contains two folders:

Step 3: Explore the Project
Inside the Avid Project, you’ll find two bins:
- Timelines Bin
- Contains two timeline types:
- Orange Timeline - a simplified learning sequence for each use case to help you understand the process of visual dubbing. The original performances (source) will not have a clip colour. The driving data (new performance as either audio or video) will be marked as orange (provided Clip Color > Timeline Local is enabled).
- Green Timelines - A corresponding timeline that contains the vubbed outputs
- Contains two timeline types:
- Consolidated Media Bin
- Contains the media clips used in the example sequences. 96 frame handles are available for all the media files. The codec of the video media is DNxHD LB
We recommend getting familiar with the timelines and seeing the relationship between the source and driving data files. Using video track monitoring, audio track soloing/muting and clip muting/unmuting can help you understand how all the assets come together on the timeline.
